unique architectures

Photoshopped photo..? No! This building looks like it is melting under the hot sun! It is called "The Crooked House" which is located in Sopot, Poland. Inspired by Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg's artworks, this building are designed by Szczepan and Małgorzata Szotyński, and the construction took about a year to be completed (from January 2003 to December 2003).
"The building with its character refers to fabulous drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg. Exterior elevation suits to very popular Monciak’s promenade style. The building with its floors refers to cornices and floors of neighbouring buildings. Colorful stained glass entrances, stone elevation decors and windows framed with sandstone make impression. There is also unusual roof covered with sheet metal with enamel roof tiles coloured with green shades, see blue and Parishian blue, which in the whole makes illusion of dragon scales.
The building was projected as three-storey object with service attic. Communication between three storey assure the lift and allowed staircase freely available. Passage from ground-floor to storey is available thanks to perfectly demonstrated range stairs. Passage from first-floor to second floor leads through reinforced stairs and from second floor to mezzanine through steel stairs which are covered whole by wood."

Night view
Unbelievable isn't it? At first I thought it was just some optical illusion photo but it's not. It's amazing how they can actually build a distorted yet stable type of building; something that usually can only be found in fairy tales. It somewhat reminds me to Salvador Dali's infamous painting; The Persistence of Memory (1931).
Another type of architecture that I found amusing is the up-side-down buildings.
Completed by a Polish businessman and philanthropist named Daniel Czapiewski in 2007.
This one doesn't look safe...
There is no doubt that creative workers like to challenge themselves..
